Somewhat unusual on Lofoten is the presence of black sand at Skagsanden beach which washes out from the nearby mountains. Mixed with an usual white sand, it creates differents patterns and shapes.

Calm Before The Storm
Rocky Vareid beach with its multiple waterholes reflecting stormy sky. In order to reveal amazing red rocks in the bottom of these waterholes, I used circular polarizer.

When the tide is low and the level of water goes down, the ice cracks and creates different forms. Here, small volcano-type "mountain" , closely resembles big mountain - Volandstinden.
